Scope of Work

  • Selectively remove existing fibre optic cable from pathways in the tunnels between Churchill and Health Sciences
  • Supply and install upwards of 20km of fibre optic cable in the LRT tunnels for three end users (LRT, IT, UofA)
  • Subcontracted an electrical company for installing 2” conduit at track and concourse levels to complete specific cabling pathways
  • Subcontract a coring and scaffolding company for a penetration between concourse and track level
  • Co-ordinate work shifts, LRT track equipment use, and traction power shut down schedules with LRT operations personnel
  • Acted as general contractor directly to the City for the duration of the project
  • Performed all splicing, terminations, and testing of installed fibre optic cable
  • Maintained QA/QC standards for all work performed
